Alginte 0.14.0 Beta
Released 2026-10-27.
Alginte is in beta (0.x): configuration keys, the topology export format, and APIs may change between releases; breaking changes are called out in release notes with migration guidance. 0.14.0 has none.
0.14.0 is the release for asking a service about each record: a model's decision, a score, a provider's status, added to the record under a field you name. Each item links to its documentation.
New
- Enrich from a service: a node that asks a service about each record and adds its answer to the record. It never filters or routes; a filter or a split after it acts on the answer.
- The preview never calls the service: it adds a simulated answer, in the service's own shape, through the same answer mapping the deployed node runs. Change it to walk each branch downstream.
- Services are the console's, declared
under
alginte.services.<name>.*: a design names a service and never carries its address or its credential, which is read from an environment variable when a call is made. - Throughput
warnings with one-click fixes: the node's drawer shows how many calls can be
in flight at once and where the number comes from, with a button that inserts a
repartition before the node, and warns when
max.poll.recordstimes the timeout is above half ofmax.poll.interval.msor when the stream has fewer threads than the repartition has partitions. - The Submit step checks the design on arrival, before you press Submit: what Submit would refuse, and the throughput warnings with their fixes. A warning never blocks the deploy.
- The answer
mapping knows
answer: completions offer its fields from the node's simulated answer, and a mapping that reaches through a missing field is flagged while you type. - Try it in the playground: its
console declares a stand-in service,
severity, that answers like a classifier, so a design with an Enrich node deploys and runs there without a service of your own. - The stream tools know the
Enrich node:
evaluate_expressionpreviews an Enrich step on its simulated answer, andvalidate_topologyanddeploy_topologyreturn the throughput warnings and each Enrich node's calls in flight.
Fixes
- Opening a share group on Kafka 4.2 no longer says the group was not found: it says the group is a share group, which the detail page does not show yet.
- Expression completions offer only what the hardened evaluation context can resolve, and one field form on every serde.
For operators
- Kafka clients and Kafka Streams 4.2.2. A stream's per-operator end-to-end latency now counts the time a record spends in a slow step (KAFKA-14597), so an Enrich node's calls show in it.
- Confluent serdes 8.2.4, with Apache HttpClient 5.6.4 (CVE-2026-71290), and Jackson 2.21.6 (CVE-2026-54515).
